                                         Partners in Faith

You are your child's first teacher and first introduction to a relationship with God.  My goal is to partner with you and share the stories and activities centered on the theme of creation in Stories of God's Love, found in our preschool religion program.  This program helps students take their first steps on their journey of faith.  They will listen to stories from scripture that tell them of God's love, and they will be invited to become a part of the stories as we connect the messages of love to their lives.  You can enhance these experiences by discussing the meaning of the lesson.

Every Friday, students will also share in the Gospel story from Seeds, that will be read at mass during the weekend.  There are activities designed to teach students about our Catholic traditions during the liturgical year.   Students will learn about Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter, in addition to events and happenings that connect us in faith.

Prayer is a very important part of our day.  In addition to learning tradition prayers like the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, students will learn prayers to recite before snack and lunch.  They will also learn some children's prayers.  During the month of September, the prayer, Gentle Jesus, will be learned.  Additionally, students will learn the lyrics and some simple signs to,
"Jesus Loves Me."

                                           Gentle Jesus

                                Gentle Jesus, now I pray,
Listen, please, to what I say.
Make me gentle, kind to all.
Just like you, when You were small.
                                                  Amen.
