The Middle School Spanish program is a comprehensive program. Students gain an awareness of the geographic and cultural variety of the Spanish-speaking world and realize the importance and significance of Hispanic culture in their own country. They engage in reading various genres of literature to enhance and further develop their awareness of cultural diversity and develop an appreciation and value for Hispanic contributions. Students are exposed to and use all four aspects of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students are able to use language patterns in Spanish in oral and written communication. They are able to express ideas using correct grammatical structures both orally and in written expression. At the end of the program, students are well prepared for advanced placement courses in high school.
