I am excited and delighted to be teaching your second grader at St. Joseph School this year! When I began teaching at St. Joseph School, I had the pleasure of working with some of our youngest students as one of the Pre-Kindergarten teachers.  In addition to teaching early childhood students here and at another school, I have also taught children in both second and third grades.  My teaching experience also includes many years as a substitute teacher in Kindergarten through grade five.

I have been a catechist for the past 24 years, six years of which I spent preparing students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.  I consider it an honor and a privilege to share the gift of our Catholic faith with your children, not only with regard to sacrament preparation, but also in terms of creating a classroom culture that celebrates and embodies our Catholic identity.

My undergraduate degree from St. John’s University and my graduate degree from Stony Brook University prepared me for today's joys and challenges in the education of children.  My philosophy of teaching is to engage students as active learners on their educational journey, and to motivate them to take ownership of their learning.  As a positive role model and facilitator, your children will be guided and supported as they grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically.

As a strong advocate of communicating with parents, I am looking forward to working with you and your child, to give him or her the best learning experience possible as a second grader.  Together, we can foster a relationship that will help all of us to create spectacular memories to be cherished for a lifetime!
