This is my 20th year teaching at St. Joseph's School. I enjoy teaching Second Grade and having the honor of preparing the children for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. It is a joy each year to watch a new class get ready for these two very important occasions with such excitement and awe.
I received both my Bachelor of Science degree and my Master's of Science degree in Elementary Education from St. John's University in Queens. During my career I have strived to remain current in all educational trends by participating in numerous workshops and classes in Literacy, Science, Child Study, Math, Religion, and Technology in the Classroom. My goal has always been to help develop independent learners who have a love for knowledge. I strive to help the children reach their full potential by recognizing each of their unique learning styles and talents, incorporating different techniques and materials, and setting a tone of mutual respect and love. A sense of humor helps also!
On a personal note, I am a mother of two children who also were blessed with the gift of a Catholic elementary school and high school. My son Matthew is 30 and is a biomedical engineer working in Washington D.C. My daughter Kristine is 24 and is a mechanical engineer working in her field in Connecticut. My husband Peter and I are now official members of the "Empty Nest" club and reside here in Holbrook. I am an avid reader and enjoy the theater and traveling.
I look forward to a very productive academic year!
